Hi All,
I am just looking for some very basic and fundamental rule-of-thumb guidelines with respect to the purchasing of lenses. (my apologies for being a little dumb !)
I am about to buy a 20D to go with the 10D I already have and am a little lost with the compatibility.
I understand that the 10D is an EF fit, which is fine and I get that, but what about the 20D ? I believe that is also EF. However, are there any lenses that fit the 20 but not the 10 ?
Also, I note that Sigma [Canon compatible] lenses are EX. Will these fit the 10 & 20 D's ?
Both Tamron lenses I have are Canon AF, so presumably fit all EOS models ?
It's all a little confusing, but only because I want to be sure that the lenses I buy will be fully compatible.
Thanking you all in advance and a very happy new year to you all.
Regards,
Russ.

All Canon EF and EF-S will fit your 20D. Every lens that Sigma makes will also fit your 20D.
So if you buy a 20D every lens Canon or Sigma makes will fit. But the EF-S lenses don't fit your 10D.
And the EX is Sigma's name on their best lenses. Like Canon has their L lenses.
