p.2 #1 · Should I take the camera?

Certainly straying from the new years eve and the kids theme, but..........

I knew a gentleman some 25+ years ago that would eat at the steak house that I worked in. He told me that he took his camera everywhere he went and that it paid off big one day.

Claimed he had gone to the Civic Center (we were in Marin County CA) to take care of some business, was on the elevator, the doors open and on the elevator steps the gang that shot their way out of the courtroom, the Angela Davis trail I think it was!!! They told him to take lots of pictures, they wanted the plubicity. Claims he made some nice change from that incident.

Never did find out if the story was true or not, but it sounded good

The reason I ask is because I don't know if it would make the hosts of the party uncomfortable- especially if they did not request that I bring the camera. What r ur thoughts?

My experience has been positive.Usually there are lots of "point 'n shoots"
and "throwaways", with their red eyes/weird flash shadows/everything in focus
snapshots, at these gatherings. I'll be asked " can you get a good shot of so and so for me?" Check with the people hosting beforehand if in doubt.
