Could someone direct me to a good website that details the three metering modes on the 20D? I feel like that is an area that I need to improve on. In addition, does shooting RAW images instead of jpeg help reduce the importance of choosing the correct metering function? Thanks
Metering and correctly exposing a picture is in my opinion, second only to proper composition. Learn how each of your meters read a scene and get some major practice. You can always adjust your exposure in post processing, but it does nowhere near as good a job as nailing it the first time.
