Is there that big of a difference between a standard Hoya filter and Multi coated filter. I bought a standard, but I think that I might return it for a multi because it blocks out less light. Please, give me your insight.
If you are going to use a filter, you want to go for a good one. I would never use one unless it is multicoated. You don't want this to be the weak point on your lens. It should be at least as good optically as the rest of the lens. I would actually recommend that you go Hoya Super Multicoated or B+W Multicoated.
Thanks Brian, I think that I am with you. When I bought the 17-40 I asked for a UV to go with it and made the mistake of not checking over the filter. So now I have to go back and return the thing.
