Memorable expression, one of the heroes of the big one I presume.
They gave us all that we have, and I will never forget.
Thanks for touching a soft spot in me.

The eyes, the furrowed face, the uniform, give us great insight into the painful experiences that are most certainly running through the mind of this great American as he remembers. You have done a wonderful job of capturing the moment. Thanks for sharing it.

A very moving image, Gilles. His expression suggests that he may be reminiscing on his experiences and those who were left behind.

The flower is a red Poppy. It is the symbol of the Remembrance Day.
Remembrance Day or Armistice Day is to commemorate World War I and other wars.
It is observed on November 11 to recall the end of World War I on that date in 1918.
