Excellent composition. Have to agree with the others that it has a very calming type of effect on the viewer. I was wondering if you considered cropping or cloning out the fallen tree across the top. My eyes keep getting stuck on this object and is distracting to the rest of the elements. Just my opinion the comp works as well as it stands.
The strength of this image is it's reality and you've done an excellent job of capturing a warm moment.

I did think about eliminating the log as well but decided in the end that it is an essential part of the image. For me, it adds to the natural and actual feel of that place.
