I came across this scene while walking in the moors in the rain. The surrounding area was a pleasing as the river - lush green grass, lots of water and complete solitude.
Excellent composition. Have to agree with the others that it has a very calming type of effect on the viewer. I was wondering if you considered cropping or cloning out the fallen tree across the top. My eyes keep getting stuck on this object and is distracting to the rest of the elements. Just my opinion the comp works as well as it stands.
The strength of this image is it's reality and you've done an excellent job of capturing a warm moment.
Ute,
Nicely done. You have shot a perfectly exposed and composed miniscape. The foliage is crisp and the water dreamy. A very pleasing image. Nice mood shot.

Very nice shot, Ute. I like the steps leading into the composition as well as the treatment of the water. The colours are lovely and mature.

Thank you, Martin.
The overcast and wet condition brought out the colours beautifully.

I like this a lot, Ute. How did you keep your D70 dry? Mine doesn't like getting wet.

Hi Sharon,
I use a large umbrella. Quite a sight me walking along with wellies on and balancing a umbrella over the equipment and rucksack. I scared off all the sheep!
Thanks for looking. Ute
