Thanks for the extra photos.. both of them show one of the things I liked about the lens - good color balance and saturation for this type of lens. When I tried the Tamron the shots seemed flatter/muddie.
BTW- Buze, can't be the UK so where is the sailing shot from?
Juan les Pins, french riviera. I was on another boat; great thing to have a nice compact lens to put on in close quarters
Oh and I had a polarizer filter on for that shot..
Do you have problems with the polarizer at the wide end? I haven't gotten once out of fear that the sky will look strange with the polarizer (very uneven polarization effect).
I have the 18-125 and think it's quite good. As someone stated earlier, a little soft wide open, but you can't beat the versatility if you just want to carry one lens.
I also own a couple of 'L' lenses and primes, but I like to keep the Sigma around for those days at the park with the kids and the wife (when the wife wants you to "stop lugging all that camera gear around!")
I think the K2 is a film camera, if so the 28-105 is a great lens. However, on my digital Canon with 1.6X factor it is not really wide enough as a single lens solution.
