Even though the Arca Swiss B1 (I assume B1, but hey it could be the B1, but STILL) is rated to hold 80 pounds I wouldn't trust that in the case of the 1200mm. Especially if I'm leaving it ALONE and STANDING by itself.

I have seen this shot before, and I thought that Arca Swiss should use that as an advertisement! If it can handle the 1200, what can't it handle!
I do agree though. I wouldn't put it on a B1 if I ever got my hands on one, and I like the B1!

The next one is not a canon, but the photographer is a well know politician - Ian Paisley Jnr (his father Rev Ian Paisley is Northern Ireland's most famous political figure and he too attended this event in Belfast).
I noticed she has the brand label taped over on the camera hanging to her side. I've heard of this practice before as a form of theft deterrence, but I couldn't imagine how useful it would be. Just curious how many PJs or travel photogs out there do this?
On a separate note, great thread idea! I'll have to see what pics I have to post!
I've heard of a couple people who actually physically remove the label from their camera, chemically (acid) or otherwise. Yeah, I think its a little excessive....but what do I know? I'm not a professional PJ.

I just noticed, that guy taking a pic of that sheep has a Canon body but Kodak grip? :o
never seen that before, is it common?
It's just a really old Canon digital camera, essentially a Canon EOS 1N with a Kodak digital back and grip. It's from quite a few years ago, and I would have to say (from holding one) the build quality is not AS good as the 1D series.
