I don't know about the lens, but that looks like the Santa Barbara solstice parade.

I usually do too, but I wasn't prepared for the baggage restrictions at the airport. Either check in my work laptop (which I'm not supposed to do) or check in my gear - chose the latter to my misfortune. No word yet from US Air - the only number that they gave me to call is a toll free one that I cannot use in the UK. The waiting continues...

This white beast is a Canon New FD800 5.6L, released January 1981. A spectacular lens. I used one briefly a few years ago: Wow.

Here's one of me on Christmas day with my brand new 400D+18-55 kit lens.

Great thread guys, some awesome photos. Lots that didn't display for me though - just "this photo copyrighted by its owner" text or a small image box with a copyright notice in it - maybe 40% of all the photos posted in the thread (ok the first 40 pages anyway!)

Cheers,
Adam

Adam -- Right click on the copyright notice then click on View Image. That should open most of the pictures.

This thread is two years old this week, so you can't expect everyone to keep files on the same websites forever. Some people run out of space and delete files, change urls, providers, etc.

Yeah, I suspect this is the reason. When I started viewing the thread I didn't notice how old it was until someone commented on it. I only realised this after my post.

Cheers
