Nice pics, but why does the girl in the hat in the second pic have her arm cut off but the guy below her does not

BTW: Canon 180 f/3.5L on a 1D Mark II. It was taken by my wife using the D60 and the 100 f/2.8.

hours of electical failure, they postponed the attempt until next year...

Note, too, that it looks like he has his tripod collar on backwards. Perhaps that's how he broke the hood in the first place: lens off-balance?
