400mm for HS basketball? isn't that a little long for a basketball court? he would only have to get shots way down the court, and not get face shots IMO. I would like to see 400mm f/2.8 for HS basketball.....anyone?

He only used it for maybe 1/2 of the first quarter before he put the 70-200 on his camera. I almost asked him if I could try it just to see how long it really was. (Of course he had a 1.3 crop camera and I have a 1.6 so it would have been even worse for me.)

Looks like a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 (I should know, I own one).
Hard to tell from the lens, but the hood is the same.
That lens is not a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8. I have one sitting like 2 feet from me, and the hood is very different on the Sigma.

I saw this at the Oakland Mall in Michigan. 20D with the kit lens ( ) C'mon santa! I thought you could get top notch stuff!
The Santa here at the mall was using a Nikon D70!
I'm not really worried about the body that they use (the 20D and the D70 are both nice cameras) but I can't believe they would shoot santa pictures with a $70 lens!
