Looks like the same lens the little kid was with... EF 500mm f/4.5 L USM, the tripod foot give it away.

Thanks guys, that's the scene I meant That definitely is L glass, and Tim might be right with his guess...apart of the focusing lenses, there is even something funnier:

oops sorry, it is the standard Canon foot it must be distortion I shot this at 28mm

It is in fact a 500 4.5L my son is holding, I do believe the movie used the same type lens. I'll check if I have the movie I'll do a screen grab.

No snow on the lens? I always find it impossible to not get snow on mine for at least two minutes.

How do you fare with condensation and moisture in general in snow like that? (with a non-weather sealed body like in the second shot above) ... I used my 20D briefly in snow in New Zealand, and it was a complete pain in the butt - I couldn't stop condenstion from forming on the back just from being close to my face!

Is it a big deal or not? I'm from Brisbane, I'm not used to using a camera in cold conditions
