Secrets of a happy family

1. Have common religious background.
2. Go for regular holidays.
3. Make sure you have decent equipment to capture the picture when it happens.
4. All of us are share similar interest ie photo freaks. I brought 3 cameras to my holiday, a S30, S60 and the 350XT.
5. A good eye for the right moment.

Anything else?

The 8mm apparently covers about 22.07mm image circle so it's just fractionally covers the width of the CMOS of 22.7mm (on the 10D anyway).

Heres a wide-angle concert shot, taken from the lighting catwalk about 100 feet above ground-level seating:

http://galleries.visual-vacations.com/images/2005-04-17-1442.jpg

To get there, I had to walk the catwalk (a see-through metal grate material) all the way from the access ladder above the stage to the rear of the venue in a large semi-circle, in the dark, and able to see the empty space under my feet the whole way. It's not an excercise for those afraid of heights.
