It may be the best macro lens... but it's also the best regular lens. I hardly use mine for macro (although it's wonderful at that) - I use it for portraits and mostly landscapes, and it mind boggling. At f/2.8 there is literally no sign of any aberration anywhere in the frame and it's so contrasty at high resolution that it can moire even on a 1DsII with it's agressive AA filter - in the corners wide open! Good thing I didn't see this for $1350 else I'd have bought myself a second copy in case my original fell off a cliff. Enjoy!
