I was at B & H today and they have the new 18-200 XR Di in stock:

They do not have a display copy yet, but the sales clerk said that a few guys opened one up and were disappointed in quality and feel. Is this going to be similar to the 28-300 lens? If anyone gets one please post a review.

I was in B&H yesterday playing around with the Tamron 18-200, the sales guys just received it and were checking it out.
I was not impressed by this lens. It was mounted on a digital rebel.
The focus seemed slow and seemed to hunt alot before locking. This was using the available light in the store.
I did not get to shoot any real photos with it to check out optic quality.
Just my opinion people.

The sales clerk's comment seems to be correct

It's the 11-18 that I'm interested to hear about.
