No clue where this post should be but I just wanted to give some praise to how the site is getting a little facelift. I really like the new look and feel.
I noticed some of the changes as they were being rolled out, it's a very "polished" look and I think the community at large is going to enjoy the changes.
It's excellent for posting several photos because you see the thumbnails as you load each image. The options for EXIF and signatures will please as well. The greater contrast in the text box is very welcome. I was less thrilled with the smiley rows but it's personal, and they are there now as a + option, which is better as they are an add-on. Two thumbs up! Thank you, Fred.
PS I just saw the top right option 'Light Background' for text assembly, also great. Test of bold text and italics text using the i//i character set - just seeing what happens. (as a writer, I like using both.) And the prominent p.x #y also is welcome.

Just one click to check the EXIF and frame boxes for ALL pictures to be posted, and preview the pictures before they get posted, saving me tons of time and avoiding the occasional mistake of posting the same picture in the post. Great improvement, Fred!

Right below the message box, you will see "Drag images or choose images", below that, you will see "frame for all", "show EXIF on all" options. I used to check these two boxes for each picture. When I posted 6 or 7 pictures, it was a PITA.
The change in "Activity" from showing total posts and likes is a bit misleading and may change some behaviors.
For example, I have 5 dots in my activity, which may lead you to believe I post a lot. Not true. That reflects 6886 posts (6887 with this one) over the past 23 years and 8 months. There are many FM'ers that post that many in a period of just a few months! They should be rewarded with many more dots than I get. Maybe activity dots should be based on posts per day, or maybe posts over the past week or month. Then FM'ers who post multiple times a day would get the recognition they deserve. And a string of dots are pretty dull. Why not a string of emoticons? It could start with a 😡 and then add a 😏, and by the time you have 7 emoticons you get a 🤣 or maybe a 😇. I see lots of room for improvement over dots.
Likes are no longer displayed! This is going to slaughter the urge to post photos in equipment forums where they will get Likes rather than in the presentation forums where all you get are a few nice comments. Some of the most active threads in the Sony forum may collapse. You may still get likes, but if they don't show, who cares?
