p.1 #3 · Is my computer enough for 100,000 PICs and some home videos (10 mins max)
Thank you - it a long story but I have a total of about 140-150 TB total data spread across about 10-15 hard drives.
In addition I have 4 4TB Ssd and one 6 Tb SSD
So should I upgrade or keep the hardware the same ?

I currently have a
Macbook PRO - M3 Max 48GB RAM
and can spend 900 $ + trade in to get the new
Macbook PROLED M5 PRO with 24GB ram and touch screen.
Do you recommend an upgrade or keep the same laptop?
I haven't used but plan to start using Lightroom and work with this large library..

You don't want to go back to a lesser amount of RAM for the computer. It's not like an M3 Max is a dinosaur, far from it.
Frankly, I'd be looking at re-organizing the storage as a priority. Do you have some arrays like NAS/DAS?
100,000 images should be on SSD if possible. Depending on the camera that would be 4 or 8TB.
I'm not familiar with any 6TB SSDs other than some U.2 6.4TB many years ago.
Consumer SSDs are typically integer TB times 2^n. Enterprise SSD are typically 0.96 TB times 2^n. For example you don't usually buy a 32TB or 64TB SSD, but a 30.72TB or 61.44TB SSD.
