Nikon seems to have accidentally posted about the Z70 in official marketing for the new 120-300mm 2.8 TC. I wonder since they're marketing the Z70 with the 120-300, if the Z70 is the D500 replacement people have been waiting for. This thread will be for rumors, specs, and eventually official announcement.
Digital teleconverter?
It will be interesting to see how that is implemented. Does that suggest a fairly high resolution sensor to provide enough data for the what I assume is the AI to munch on?
I'll add this to my bag if it is built like the Z6III.
I'd like a crop body for hikes with my 100-400, as a light "scramble" lens. My Z9s get heavy if I've got more than 5 miles ahead of me.

I noticed that comment too, the numbers shown suggest a 2x factor as they say 1260mm equivalent from the 120-300. 300 x 1.4tc x 1.5 APSC crop factor = 630mm equivalent, 1260mm is double that.
If 'digital teleconverter' is just another name for a sensor crop mode then it would need a very high mp sensor for a 2x crop of APSC to still give useful resolution.
You may be right that it takes a sensor crop and then applies some kind of AI upscaling to bring the resolution back up, but if that is the case wonder how that extra processing load would impact frame rate / buffer / battery etc?
