p.1 #1How do Profoto, Sony, and Elinchrom auto sync flash timing on the A9 III?
Hey everyone,

I've created a program that can prescribe the perfect timing for any combination of strobes and settings on the A9 III. Now I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to reprogram the firmware of my flash to sync that timing automatically, the same way Profoto, Sony, and Elinchrom already do.

Auto sync works on the current Sony firmware, so the camera already supports it. The delay happens on the body side, which means the trigger has to tell the body the flash, the shutter speed, and the power, and the body sets its delay to match. What I can't figure out is how that information gets into the body.

If you shoot with an auto sync transmitter or a Sony flash, could you check something for me?

1. What does the Flash Timing menu show when it's connected?
2. Does the value change when you change the flash power or shutter speed?

A photo of the Flash Timing screen at two different power settings would help a lot.

Here's a short demo of the timing app I built: https://youtu.be/i4YQTHyw8p4

If you want to follow the project, you can sign up here: https://flash-waitlist.vercel.app

I appreciate any help.
