The Taurid meteor shower is a long lasting several week shower without a sharp peak that tends to yield many bright meteors and fireballs. It is my favorite shower for trying to capture landscape and bright meteors. My first bright Taurid of 2026, over Catalina Mountains in Tucson on a starry Moonless night. Nikon Z7II and Nikon 20 mm F1.8.

Super cool you captured the decisive moment!
Next two weeks or so is the time- unlike most meteor showers this one stretches out over a few weeks so my decisive moment is derived from 3-5,000+ images per good night a few cameras, weather and clouds do get in the way, and I hope for maybe a dozen or so good moments this year. Last year I caught the Taurids when the Sun was active and producing auroras in Tucson and got two good ones with purple sky of an aurora seen as far south as Mexico. We just had weather pass might now have a few good nights to hope for a good one.
