p.1 #1best protection for buyer and seller?
I am a professional photographer and for many years have sold (and occasionally bought) equipment through Ebay. However I am thinking of selling an item worth around $3000 and as a private person, am reluctant to involve sales tax on an item I have already paid sales tax on. My main concern though is to make sure I am not swindled by an unscrupulous pretend buyer and also assure buyers of my genuine intent. To that purpose I was thinking that the best way is to include 'declared value' insurance from the shipper in the price, along with an adult signature requirement. This would still be a lot less than the Ebay tax, fees and shipping model. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you need to use the buy/sell forums here on FM. Your account is new so people will be more hesitation.

Thank you - I thought I was on the Buy & Sell ! A seller says they PM'd me, but I don't see it anywhere. Maybe I am crazy after all- but I would love to follow up and/or get a pointer to what I am maybe doing wrong...!
Cheers

I'm not sure if it applies to paid members of B&S, but normal people have to attain 25 posts to PM.
