Partial answer. I have ETZ21 Pro (not the plus). Z8'a IBIS work when the lens OSS is turned off. As I understand that's the only way it works. If you have the lens OSS turned on, it doesn't work well. So IBIS is not very effective for longer focal lengths. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
I've used Z8 with 300/2.8 this way. I don't have a Sony lens without OSS.
I had weird experiences with the IBIS on a Z8 and the ETZ21 Pro+. Occasionally it would be working fine and then a clunk and the IBIS would stop working. Switching the camera off and then back on again fixed it, but this was 100% just a behavior related to the adapter. Did it with the 135mm 1.4 sigma lens and the 50-150 GM.

Does anyone happen to know if the Megadap ETZ21 Pro+ supports 5-axis IBIS when adapting Sony AF lenses that don't have OIS?
I mostly use the Sony lenses on my Nikon Zf. Its IBIS works equally well with the ETZ21 Pro+ and native lenses. But I suspect your question is deeper because you mention "5-axis". Is there a some kind of a downgraded IBIS mode? Happy to check and come back to you.

For 3-axis IBIS, only the focal length of the lens is needed. For 5-axis IBIS, you also need the focus distance. I think this is why it gets hard to decipher. If you're using a MF lens with no electronic contacts, you would expect 3-axis IBIS, but if you're using a modern AF lens, in theory, 5-axis IBIS is possible. Also, modern MF lenses with electronic contacts, such as the Voigtlander E lenses, should in theory allow for 5-axis IBIS, as they do on Sony.
