Hello to all,
I'm thinking about picking up a used Z7ii as a second camera to use with a few vintage lenses from back in my OM-1 days in the late 1970's. I always enjoyed the days of manual focus, shutter speed selection and aperture settings before fully automatic cameras came to market just a few years later. I am asking this question specifically about the z7ii because it features +45mp capability and adapters are made for my lenses.
I shoot basically only landscape photos and I don't really need any video capability. I own another mirrorless camera by another company and it's a rangefinder style for vacation photos. So, this would just be a camera to challenge me to return to some older skills.
The question: Is this the right Nikon model for me?
Any opinions and suggestions are welcome.

I'd say that the a7rV or something like that is, but in a Nikon the Z7II has a good low-ISO sensor. The main issue you may have is that many of the old 20th century lenses were not so great center to corner as you'd want for landscapes now. You also lose the ability to quickly and efficiently bracket focus that you get with modern AF MILS lenses. But you can gradually upgrade over time rather than lay out all that cash at once.
I think the z7II is one of the best landscape cameras available.
For me personally, compared to other cameras, what you live without is those fast sensor reads, but those are unnecessary for landscape. The mechanical shutter on the Z7II is dreadfully pleasant to use, so you'd want to be on mechanical shutter anyways.
I'd also say that the Zf is good if you like mechanical tactility, but that's only if you prefer shutter speed/ISO dials instead of control wheel usage, AND you're ok with 24MP.
But yes, tons of adapters available for the Z-mount.
The Z7II is good for your purpose given that you specify 45MP vs 24MP. They are fairly inexpensive used. A Z6II is even less $$$, but "only" 24MP. For images that are intended to be "super sharp" with maximum small detail, 45MP does hold a modest advantage over 24MP. A used Z7II is less $$$ than a used Canon R5, and is probably a slightly better sensor for old film lenses than any Sony.
