At many of the places I photograph wildlife the Monarchs have started to congregate to get ready for their long journey South.
These photos were taken at the Royal Botanical Garden in Burlington, ON

A lovely set Joachim. They usually migrate through Long Island the last week of September and I'm looking forward to seeing them

Thank you Morris. You sure can expect a show. Here in Ontario I have seen them migrate through the Niagara Peninsula with a short hop across Lake Erie at its Eastern point. also at Point Pele which reaches far across Lake Erie. Just like the birds, they don't like long stretches across open water.
But it's good to see that there have been more Monarchs this year.

I've been noticing they are rebounding as well. I try and go every year.

Unfortunately, I have only seen one, so far this year. Nice work and observation, Joachim!

Thank you Douglas. Maybe they have not found the right habitat in your region?
BTW, I viewed the photos of some of the air shows you posted. I can only say, Wow. The skills of the pilots and yours are amazing.
Cheers, Joahcim
