From the previous discussion regarding lens hoods for XCD lenses, while i prefer the magnetic type, I did order this lens hood which will fit either my 38mm or 55mm lens. The fit and finish is good and the square shape look cool on these primes. I can confirm there is no vignetting on the 38mm.

Many thanks for this, looks nice on the lens and smaller than the stock one? How about flaring etc?
Best,
Darrin
I don't think it's any smaller in length but it feels that way due to the shape. I haven't tested flaring but I have previously shot this lens (and the 55mm) without a hood anyway and never really had a flaring issue.
Oooh, I like the look of that. Thanks for the assist. rji2goleez wrote:

I tried the lens hood, the quality is very good. Unfortunately for me it wont work with my magnetic filter system so I am stuck with the stock hood. FYI for anyone looking at it.

Same for me but I use the primes a lot where I don't need a filter so I'm keeping mine.
