p.1 #1 · Kirk removable foot for Sony 400-800mm?

Anyone try the Kirk removable foot for their 400-800mm lens? I like the idea of being able to easily take the foot off, but wonder about its sturdiness compared to a bolted on foot.

Here's detail on B&H - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1891961-REG/kirk_lp_68kit_replacement_foot_kit_for.html/overview

Kirk stuff is pretty solid, I have the same foot but for the 300, no issues. I've had kirk foots on a Canon 500 f4 and Sony 600f4 for years using a black rapid sling, they are well made. I would prefer a bolted on foot as well, since I'm not in the habit of ever removing the foot, I just cranked down the knob well hasn't loosened at all.

I got the Leofoto. 4 screws. I prefer that. Can't justify my preference with any engineering expertise, just makes me feel better!
I also like that the Leo has a rubber grip.

I have the Leofoto already. The removability of the Kirk is appealing, but the high price puts me off a bit. Guess I'll just stick with the Leofoto, which is very nice.

I have seen (more than one) report of the clamp mechanism failing.
It seems over tightening caused the clamp to fail, catastrophically.
These were genuine Sony feet.
No way of knowing how much muscle was used to cause that, or any other abuse.
The size of the 4 screws used to secure the foot to the 400-800 are definitely reassuring.
