I'm in the US and want to buy a used camera from a dealer in Hong Kong. From what I've read it seems I could end up paying an additional 10 to 50 percent in tariff and import duties. Does anyone have recent experience with this kind of transaction? Five years ago I bought a new camera from a Hong Kong dealer and it arrived in four days with no fees tacked on, but I know times have changed with this administration.

I bought stuff from eBay after tariffs have started, from Japan. Japanese sellers use DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) shipping. i.e. they bump the shipping price, but take care of the tariff. Not sure if that is practiced in Hong Kong. Check it out and if done, make sure and to get the proof of DDP (I don't know what it is, but I trust Japanese sellers and never had a problem).
