On my upcoming trip, I'll be using my NYA-EVO FJORD 60-C to carry-on my expensive gear that I don't want to put in my checked baggage, but I would prefer not to carry it with all my gear every day at my destinations. I've read (but couldn't figure out how to search for) a few posts where folks say that in addition to a large-ish carry-on bag for their expensive photo gear, they pack a smaller bag in their luggage that they use at their destination to carry only the gear they need on a specific day. I have an old 24-liter Osprey pack (originally purchased for a different purpose) that I frequently use to carry my gear on local day hikes, and a 38-liter Osprey pack that I use when I need my larger 300/2.8, but I'm not sure I can fit either of them into my suitcase.
What bags do folks pack in their checked luggage for carrying their photography gear at their destination?

I use the Peak Design Everyday Backpack 20 ltr. for my camera and 3 lenses. It's a tight fit though, but I can take it as carry-on. I never put any photo gear into checked baggage.

i used an Overboard ProLight 20 liter Backpack when I traveled to Antartica and other subsequent overseas travels. It easily fit into my check-in luggage and readily folds flat occupying minimal room. It held my photography gear utilized for a day excursion. Comfortable to carry with many useful features especially being waterproof. Easy access to gear. I used neoprene wraps to protect my gear instead of camera inserts which occupy too much space. Very durable.
