Hard to believe a year has passed since I hit the road last September for a 3-month photography trip that in the beginning featured the glory of Utah fall from north to south. Today I went through a folder of images I have not had a chance to publish here yet, and hope you find some visual inspiration as we near the beginning of our autumn shooting season across the country and other parts of the world. Wishing each of you great subjects and light on your fall journeys, and most of all passion and gratitude in your heart as you get out into landscapes you love!
Nicely done. A couple, in particular intrigue me. I like the one with the trees on the right and the red rock canyon wall to the left. Reminds me of a lot of Utah places, including some in the high country of Zion. I also like the idea of trying to do a monochrome “fall color” photo, something that we don’t see a lot any more.
Thanks for the inspiration. Like you, and many others, I've traveled to photograph the fall color season in numerous places for many years. It got more difficult to find or capture anything new, unique, or exciting to me. I found myself looking at beautiful stuff and thinking that I already have hundreds of nearly identical images, and not pressing the shutter. There was no newness of discovery. Perhaps I need a new location that is not like the places I've been. Still undecided what to do when the time comes.

Thank you, Dan! I’m usually so locked in on color, I forget to consider the monochrome possibilities.
