The rugged hood has a slight bow near the middle, likely from being transported in its case. It was that way when I bought it and obviously has zero effect on usage. It fits snuggly and protects the front element well.
I am a 5'3" lady and can handhold this but many people may rather use it on a monopod for a longer event. It's about 6.5lbs.

It is. The original version has been discontinued for service by Nikon - only the VRII is still actively supported. The results from this lens are incredible. But, you know...Nikon.

The D850, if the added grip and CF Express card is part of the kit, that camera is a beast. I realize that still is only 9 fps, but that's still enough to capture most play sequences extremely well. I was turned on to this lens by a guy who had adapted it to a Z camera and was doing really well with it. This lens is revolutionary. It's optics will give you weak knees once you see the results.

Thanks. I have the VR II and even that one, I think is the last less (together with the 58mm 1.4) of my Nikon F lenses that I would sell. specially as there is no Z 200mm f2 yet. I am always curious of trying the Sigma/Sony 200mm with the adapter, but maybe once the kids to college.
