My only comment is that blood vessels tend to show through lighter skin, and mono conversion tends to exaggerate them along with any reddish-toned moles, blemishes or blotches that most fairer skinned humans have. If the original is in color, you might want to try using a bit of green filtration during your mono conversion to attenuate the effect. Offered as a FWIW suggestion only...
