Yesterday at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY I found this fledgling Forster's Tern perched on the stick that you see in these photos. I set up and took some photos of it and was happy to see on of it's parents come in with a fish. I was too close and cropped the adult's wings. The next thing I knew somone came walking up the trail very fast and flushed the fledgling who flew over to the railing of a bridge and just as I was setting up the other parent came in with a fish. I missed the food exchange yet got a few photos of them together on the railing. Then another person walked over the bridge flushing both of them. The fledgling went back to the original perch and this time I knew how far back I need to be to get them both in the frame. It was about 15 minutes till one of the parents flew over,us and dove into the pond. I tried to get that photo yet I did not have enough time and not wanting to miss the food exchange I pressed my focus recall button which I'd set for the distance of the fledgling and composed leaving space for the parent.
