interesting but how do they compare to the sony 50-150mm f2 zoom i guess they will be better but by how much ,guess being a zoom it will still struggle in busy backgrounds ,always enjoyed my viltrox 135mm f1.8 but sold it and i am looking at the 50-150mm f2 replacement ,sigma deserves a lot of credit with their lens designs ,just wish sony would knock 3rd party limitations on the head.

Adding another lens increases the time that is needed significantly.
So to add another lens I need to have a very good reason to do so.
The Viltrox and the 7Artisans are not excellent lenses, they are good lenses.
And I already know that they fall short in the bokeh category compared to the Sigma and the Plena,
so there was no reason to include them to begin with.
Nice snarky reply.
While QC is is a problem with the Chinese lenses, as reviewers have stated, the rendering of the 7Artisans is beautiful up there with others and better than the Viltrox. I would not buy it due to AF and QC issues, but you asked about rendering. I would hope the Sigma f/1.4 did a great job compared to an f/1.8
On my original question, the Nikon is more competent across criteria (no vignetting, circular bokeh etc), but I find the Sigma nominally sharper at least center frame, and greatly prefer its rendering.
Wish this forum still fostered more thoughtful insight vs “go buy it yourself and try it” or “go search the forum, it’s been answered 100 times.”
i guess becuase neither is a easy purchase and 135mm is quite nieche and the two lenses are from different brands and mounts ,but i must say i am jealous of your lens set up ,not many are going to own both ,i can tell sigma is on a roll with lenses at the moment though ,not really seen many weak images with any 135mm ,they all seem to perform well ,but i would say the sigma seems to go that bit step further from what i have seen .none of the best 135mm are a easy cheap purchase either ,it is not like a 14mm viltrox air where you could buy one and forget about owning it and knowing it will serve you well when needed,

Happy shooting.
That is quite frustrating. That's at least the 2nd or 3rd that I've seen or heard of accumulating dust fairly quickly. Wonder if the 200 and new 85 suffer from the same dust infiltration...
I don't wish to find out, as I own a copy of the 200mm f2... that lens is unique enough to where if it does, I HOPE Sigma covers this under their 4 year warranty. Very frustrating, and more annoying than anything as it tends to negatively affect resale value.

Best Buy “total tech” warranty now covers third party so ordered from Adrorama through Best Buy as it gets me a warranty that covers internal dust…. Copy #2 arrives next week. Fingers crossed
Just catching up on this thread. Having owned both and currently shooting with the Sigma 135mm f/1.4, I can say they are both incredible lenses. While the Plena is a masterclass in technical perfection, I couldn't be happier with my choice. That extra stop at f/1.4 offers something truly special, and I simply prefer the rendering and character of the Sigma. In fact, I love it so much that it ultimately replaced my Canon 200mm f/2.
I agree, hence try #2…. Ps… you need to try the Sigma 200mm f2…. It’s phenomenal.
