p.1 #1 · Thunderbirds at the Terra Haute Air Show 8/23/2026
Starting off with the flag shot, followed by a bunch of fun Thunderbird shots!
These are all with the A9iii with a less than week old 100-400 GM F4.5. I'm really enjoying this new zoom offering from Sony!
This doesn't show how fun that new zoom is in terms of background bokeh. My wildlife shots this week has shown this zoom has a very prime like bokeh background quality without that typical business of prior zooms I've had. (Sony 200-600 and 100-400 gm 1st edition)
I have 21 more pictures I'd like to post but don't know what the limits or are or what is expected as I'm a noob poster her.

The Thunderbirds are flying again this weekend at Grissom Air Force Base just north of Kokomo Indiana.
This was only the 2nd air show I've been to after seeing the Blue Angels also in Terra Haute in 2024. They are different in feel and flavor with the Blue Angels have much more precision flying while the Thunderbirds are more about explosive action including a 5 way near collision overlap each plane coming from a different direction but timing it so all five are over the same point just missing everyone. Both were amazing shows!!
