p.1 #1A7V and Tamron 70-180, 2.8 m1
I use this lens to shoot my two youngest grandgirls' HS and JrH sports, volleyball and basketball. I have done it with the A1 for several years but wanted to try out the new A7V. No response from either dial. Came on and allowed me to look through it but that was about it. I reseated the lens, pulled the batteries, basically everything I knew to try. Luckily, I had the A1 in the vehicle. Could this be a firmware problem? Looking for answers.

I believe there was a firmware update to add compatibility with the newer bodies like A7V and A7rvi.

The firmware version was the issue. The lens was still on version 1 but is now on version 3.

Glad you got it work. Hope it works good for you. I had this lens, but sold it due the missing 20mm. I wished it was like a 90-210mm or 100-225mm.

Glad you got it fixed, firmware update fix is always the easiest and first to try as if that doesn't fix the issue we got a much bigger problem.
