Great set! I went to Scotland a few years ago. The Highlands and the Isle of Skye were the places I loved the most. What did you think of Loch Ness? It was a bit disappointing for me.

Beautiful set of images. Makes me want to be there! I only wish they were a little bigger.

We’ve seen Loch ness on a couple of trips now. A few years back we walked the Great Glen Way, and that meant we either walked next to it or were within sight of it (from the hills) most of the way to Inverness. On the most recent trip, we drove past part of it on our way from Inverness to Skye.
I think I felt a bit like you do about that loch. It is… pretty. But in a land full of lochs, without those “Nessie” stories there would not be too much to set it apart other than its size and its accessibility. It is a nice place, but I’ve been more intrigued by other parts of Scotland and specifically the highlands.
Skye is, of course, quite a place with everything from the coast (and views of distant islands) to the tall mountains to green lowlands to the various towns and more. From Skye we headed north up to the very top of the Scottish mainland and then across to John O’Groats, and especially along that west coast we saw a lot of really remarkable scenery.

Thanks.
Choosing a display size involves balancing a set of pluses and minuses. Different photographers will come to different conclusions about what is ideal, but I’ve chosen this size for a range of reasons — loading and uploading speed, fitting on screens that most folks use, some degree of caution about placing gigantic images in the public space, and more.
And, yes, they almost always do look better at larger sizes. I get to see them filling the screens of my 27” monitors. and, of course, there are always prints… :-)

Great collection, Dan! Nicely captured and processed. Brings back memories from my trip to Scotland a couple of years ago...

Thanks!
It is a beautiful place, isn't it? We've been a couple of times and I want to go back — I'd like to get out on some of the further islands, for example, and perhaps visit much later in the year.
