I've owned a lot cameras over the years, from Canon (5D, 5DII, 1Ds, 1DsIII, R5, R3) to Sony (a7R, a7RII) to Phase One (IQ3 Trichromatic) to Hasseblad (X2D, X2DII) and now back to Canon (R5II), so I feel like I have fairly good idea of what I like and don't like. I've also owned a Q2 for 2-3 years and absolutely love the image quality that thing outputs, so why it took me so long to look into the SL3 system, I have no idea. I only wish I'd dug in sooner. Thanks to Joe C (here on the forum) for 2-day shipping the body to my hotel in SF, and to Lakshman (also here on FM) for the fantastic deal on the lens package.
I had so. much. fun. shooting in SF the last 3 days. This thing has me so inspired - I'm back to wanting to take my camera with me wherever I go. For some reason the X2DII sat on the shelf for most of its time with me. Not bashing it at all - it's a beautiful camera. Just didn't do it for me. This SL3 on the other hand... it's going to be in my arsenal for a long time.
Oh, and then I made the mistake of stopping by the SF Leica store yesterday and walked out with an M-adapter T and a 35mm f1.4 Summilux-M Asph III. The SL3 already slows me down, but now with having to manually focus it puts even more intention into every shot. Loving it.
