Rich, These are quite good for self portraits. I know how hard it can be to be on the other side of the lens. My facial expressions always ruined the careful planning. I like the limited dof, and lighting.

Though a blurry background is usually a plus, getting your subject fully in focus is more important to me. I will use a significantly higher F-Stop for these shots. You obviously like using your new 1.2 lens, but in this case an F-Stop setting high enough to get you and guitar fully in focus, or the part of the image that you wish people would see first in focus and work on getting the blurry background another way.
After reading your CCs I’ll say I’m happy with 1.2 on the 1st 2 pics.
