p.1 #1 · Metal Prints

I am planning to make poster sized color prints of some of the musical "album art" I love....Metal?

I just would like to know about printing the art..Not interested in any copyright stuff...It is on the internet so that is my " pass go...."They will hang in my bathroom or bedroom..

Members who have experience printing this type I would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks!
Dan

Dan, I've printed many wildlife shots on metal, using Artbeat Studios in Socal. They offer different surface textures, etc although I suspect you would want the glossy one for your posters.

They are very particular about quality btw.

Hope that helps,
Bob

Another option for you, Dan, is Adoramapix. I've had them print multiple metal prints for me and was pleased with the results. Did have one hiccup where a print was spotted, but an email with pics brought me a quick replacement.

They occasionally run sales where you can get 20% off as well.

I used Metal Mouth almost exclusively when I was selling my work. Never a complaint from either the customers or myself.

That's a lot of solid black for a dye sub metal print, and I don't think it's going to look like you expect regardless of who does it. Personally, I'd opt for a C-print on something like Fuji Pearl paper and then mount it.

I've used Full Color in Dallas for several metal prints with excellent results. You might also think about printing your art piece on metallic paper.

That is the feedback I am looking for"mk"!

Yes it is MUCHO black as with many of Asia's album covers.

I use Shinyprints. They've only messed up one order so far and replaced it immediately.

I have several images printed on metal that were done at White House Custom Color. Haven't tried others because WHCC just nails it every time and will notify me of issues if I accidentally upload a lower res file that I used to post online. Great turn around time and the packing is professional level. I've had them print as large as 16 x 20, but they can go larger.

Good luck!

Greg

I use them for clients and for donations to auctions as they seem to raise the most money. I don't have any around the house at the moment, unfortunately.

I would like to view what it looks like from a member versus what is on line....now if you, or any member, has a reputable site that will give an accurate "base" view so I can see..that would greatly be appreciated.

Currently I have sent a request to the album artist for "Help"..If I have to buy a "product" to get what I might eventually, even most lickly purchase anyway..FINE...the artist gets paid a stipend for his/her art. Would I prefer it be FREE? SURE! But...No problem with capitalism at all if it is a fair price.!
Thanks Scott!

I commend your "community" involvement Scott! It gets your name and photography "out there" at no real cost to you....and goes to a worthy cause!

Good philosophy to follow..! and might I add? I do as well! All of use should! The talent is on this forum!!!
