WISH YOUR NIKON CAMERA HAD A BUILT IN GPS TO TAG YOUR IMAGES OR TRACK YOUR PHOTOS? THIS UNIT FITS INTO THE 10 PIN CONNECTOR ON YOUR CAMERA AND LINKS TO GPS SATELLITES. I USED IT ON MY Z8, D850, D800 (SEE THE LIST BELOW)
IT USES YOUR CAMERA BATTERY BUT VERY LOW POWER. I USED IT ALL DAY IN AFRICA AND OTHER LOCTATION SHOOTS AND NEVER HAD A POWER ISSUE WITH IT DRAINING MY CAMERA BATTERY. I NO LONGER HAVE ANY NIKON CAMERAS AND THEY NO LONGER MAKE THESE. THEY FIT FLUSH WITH THE BODY AND HAVE A SIMPLE ON/OFF SWITCH AND LED INDICATOR. THE GPS DATA IS EMBEDED INTO YOUR METADATA ON YOUR PHOTOS AND IS PICKED UP BY LIGHTROOM CLASSIC SO ITS ALL AUTOMATIC. I LIKED BEING ABLE TO CLICK ON A PHOTO IN LRC AND HAVE IS SHOW ME EXACTLY WHERE AN IMAGE WAS TAKEN.
