Thank you Douglas. Here is a short history of the textile mill as it was in the late 19th century. They were making everything from ship sails to tarpaulins, awnings, railcar roof covers, etc.:

Most of the large looms and other equipment are housed in a textile museum in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
