Dan, the Urquhart Butterfly Garden is not a Conservatory but a regular open air garden with many flower beds, well maintained by volunteers and City of Dundas gardening personnel. Spenser Creek runs into the Desjardin canal adjacent to the garden. All kind of wildlife like blue-, green-, night- heron, ducks and cormorants and the smaller song birds like vrens, oriols, warblers, etc., like to hang around. Also several pairs of kingfishers.
It used to be an industrial area in the late 19th, early 20th century. The Garden is named in honour of Prof Urquhart (U. of Toronto) who, with his wife, dedicated his life to the discovery of the migration routes of the Monarch butterfly.

I did realize that your are is "au natural".
Maryland is a migratory route for Monarchs from Maine to Delaware.....
Always great to see places/govts dedicate areas to our natural wildlife..
Thanks!
