p.1 #1Anyone lose their gear in south Florida?
Ran across this over on Reddit, not my post but thought on the chance that this could be legit, it might help someone out, so it doesnt hurt to share.

Someone found some serious gear, (a1ii, 28-70f2, 50-150f2) abandoned on the atlantic trailhead in south Florida. So if you lost your gear down there it looks like he turned it in to the police station.

According to the OP on Reddit it was found on the side of the road going into the parking lot. Me thinks the owner left it on the top of the car, became distracted and drove off.

It happens more than just with coffee cups. I had the same thing happen to me (other gear) and I sure hope the owner finds it...there's some serious gear in that bag.

Hey, I almost did one of those a decade or so ago!

A group of us had spent the day photographing winter birds and “birdscapes” at a favorite California location. We photographed on into twilight and finally things wound down. We casually talked for a while in the gathering darkness, and finally it was time to leave. I said good night and started to walk to my car… when one of my friends said, “Dan, did you mean to leave that there?”

My bag full of my camera and all of my lenses was sitting on the ground behind my vehicle!

I've done something similar twice. Both times I was lucky to retrieve bag of gear. Its definitely a risk since we're dragging this gear along with us in our day to say lives. I now keep smart tags in my camera bag. If I leave my bag behind, I get pinged on my watch. Yes this means I get pinged everytime I leave my house without a bag, but the minor annoyance is a good price to pay for potentially losing a bag of gear

Thanks for sharing this!

That’s some pretty expensive kit. Hopefully the owner will get their gear back
