p.1 #1 · Question re A6700 focus point choice

Always been intrigued by Sony's AF as a Nikon shooter, looking for a smaller form factor camera I Can always have with me along with a couple primes, ideally a 50 mil and a 20something and an 85, handled the A6700 a couple times and the size looks perfect, the AF seemed amazing but the EVF tiny and I didn't have enough time to figure how to move the focus point with a physical control, how does that work?

How long before Sony updates the APS-C sensor cameras?

Thank you

I don't usually try that approach with mine. It doesn't have a joystick. Doesn't mean you can't I just don't recall. Might be able to have touch points on the rear panel? Usually I'll have it set up to put the focus box over an item, use "back button focus," press AF-On, then recompose.

Sony doesn't seem to have a predictable schedule for aps-c updates. The A6700 was released 8 months after the A7Rv, the A7CR two months after that..

p.1 #3 · Question re A6700 focus point choice

Ciao @craiggillette,

that's exactly what I read, you can pick the focus point with a finger on the rear screen which won't fit my way to handle a camera, I also use the back button AF on all of my cameras but I can't make without a decent viewfinder and the ability to pick the focus point and that's what keeps me hoping in a new release with that addressed.

Thanks

p.1 #4 · Question re A6700 focus point choice

On my A6700: with Touch Operation turned OFF, if I push the center button on the back wheel the single focus point changes to also show arrows around it. You can then use the four click points on the wheel to move the focus point to where ever you want it to be. Push the center button again to complete OR just leave it in that mode and back button focus will still work which allows you to continue to use the 4 clicks on the back dial to move the point whenever you want. All visible in the view finder as well as on the back screen.
