Great job on these Gregg! I like #4 and #5 especially, with #4 just a wonderland.

I’m fascinated that, with two exceptions, there seems to be a unified composition element in this set: strong vertical and horizontal lines with subjects receding into the distance.

Absolutely superb shots. Beautifully composed, well thought out and expertly captured. Anyone can photograph Japan’s famous locations, but capturing them this cleanly and elegantly, especially with the constant crowds, takes real patience and skill.

You were also fortunate to experience Sakura season. The blossoms are stunning, but their peak lasts such a short time, making these images even more special. I was there myself last year during Sakura season and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The cherry blossoms were simply gorgeous.

I completely agree about Japan itself. Beyond the scenery and food, what stands out most is the culture; the courtesy, respect, discipline, cleanliness and sense of order are truly remarkable. It’s a country that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor.

"The constant flow of people moving in and out of the frame made it challenging, but with a bit of patience, I managed to capture those rare, clean moments. A few images were taken very late at night, when the crowds finally disappeared and the scenes became calm and almost surreal."

Great "Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish"...by John Quincy Adams.

Magical images indeed...beautiful!
