Error messages just started turning up, and I was wondering If anyone else had this issue and what it might be. I did wipe the contacts down and they were a bit dirty but not bad. Basically I always have these two hooked together in a case, so they haven't been apart very much at all.
Anyone else ever run into this ?
As Alan said, check with other lenses. I also would suggest check the memory card. Sometimes when the card gets corrupted, you get those messages ("Err"). Happened to me once when the card got corrupted. Another possibility is that if any of the pins of electric contacts are damaged, you could see the same message. Divide and isolate the root cause.
Tried the reset and fresh battery, still intermittent ERR message. I'll have to send both in for eval.
What would you say is the best Nikon repair facility closest to Boston ?
If it’s a US model, just send it direct to Nikon service. They’re on Long Island for those of us on this side of the USA. They’re fast, they do a great job, I doubt you’ll be unhappy.
