I am betting it was on the whole time you had the camera. Leica is not in the habit of putting on aftermarket screen protectors. Obviously it saved your LCD from because had it not been there your LCD would have taken the damage. You probably should take that hint and replace it.
You might want to think about apologizing to those nice people at Leica, and clean up the social media campaign.

You say be nice after you thrashed Leica Camera USA publicly on their instagram post for something that was your fault and through your own short sightedness you didn't know about the screen protector?
Not very nice of you when you yourself doubted people here trying to help you and give you a solution which you just admitted you finally noticed.

Many here were being helpful. Some were being rude. I’ll clean up my Leica campaign and apologize to them.
You went as far as to blame the Leica for not having a strap you like in stock-
"Blaineeeeeeeeee - Your Leica repair facility in New Jersey has completely botched the repair of my camera because I accidentally dropped it last month because your damn black and white carrying strap has been on back order for 6 %$&#@$% months and I’m super upset because I would have had it around my neck and never dropped it in the first place. You can review the probably over at least 10 emails I sent to xxxxx begging them for the strap. I would like an exchange for a new camera. I definitely don’t want your repair facility touching my camera. It was brand new in Mach 2026. The lens cover now fits lose and doesn’t lock into place. There’s some kind of bubble on the lcd display and scratches. There’s micro scratches on the body and lens cap. The lens cap had some kind of residue on it. All the settings were changed. The diopter was changed. I haven’t even tried to take a picture to see if anything is wrong there. Please contact me asap"
