Hi All:
I've been a Canon user now for ~ 20 years, before that I was a Nikon film user in the 90s. I am COMPLETELY out of the loop of most things Nikon DSLR and digital, so please forgive my ignorance.
I'm thinking of dumping my expensive Canon gear, selling it all and picking up "old skool" gear for less money. Yes, I know it's heavier and I know IQ may be less good, but I also don't shoot nearly a much as I used to. So, a less expensive, but still high quality option would be nice.
I'll get to the crux of the question: Right now I have it good for transferring photos from my Canon RP directly to my iPhone. I can plug a cable into my camera and then plug the other end directly in my iPhone and get a folder to transfer files over. I can also use the Canon app to directly transfer files without any plugs. I love doing this so that I can take my recent photos, crop, adjust and send to whomever I want (usually just my wife).
I rarely sit at my computer to process photos.
I'm having a hard time getting a straight answer on how well Nikon DSLRs can do the same thing. I've been looking at Nikon's FX offerings, especially the D750 (sweet spot of 'recent enough' and 'cheap enough'). Are there any reasonable options for transferring photos directly from the Nikon D750 to my iPhone?

I do this all the time on my mirrorless Nikon cameras using USB-C to USB-C to my iPhone.
Back in the Lightning port days, I used to carry a $5 SD card dongle with me, which was also very fast for dumping files (the process on the iPhone side is identical to what I do now, just had to put the SD in the dongle and dongle into iPhone). https://www.amazon.com/Reader-Supports-MicroSD-Adapters-MacBook/dp/B0DMSNJ94Y
