A lot of people seem to forget that any digital camera without a global shutter will produce some rolling shutter distortion in these situations and a few others. The amount may vary, but it doesn’t disappear.
From what I read in this thread and elsewhere, I get the impression that some do not understand this.

Not looking to restart this whole thread... But Sony has pretty much done the same thing again with the release of the FX5. The FX5 uses the same processor as the a7rIV, the same battery, and very likely uses the same or a very similar sensor. (16mp * 4 = 64mp and Sony has used quad bayer designs in video centric cameras before). The a7rVI is 4,500 and the FX5 is 4,900, which are very close in price point, especially when you consider all the additional hardware level video features the FX5 has. The release dates are less than 3 months apart.
The FX5 got open gate and raw video, the A7rIV did not. I just don't understand the feature separations. It's getting more and more common for nature photographers to also film some video for online use, which open gate would be very helpful for. Price aside, there is no way changing cameras is as convenient as switching a switch from photo to video mode.
I try to be realistic, based on what other companies are offering. For example, I don't expect an a7rVI to have power out for microphones. In this case, though, the Canon R6III has Open Gate and Raw video for a 2,800 price point. Nikon has raw video in the Z5II for a $1,850 price point, often on sale for around $1,600. Both Canon and Nikon also have their own dedicated video models, so it's not as if the market can't support closer feature parity between photography and video centric models.
At the end of the day, this is the type of decision that has left me disappointed with Sony's current path. Especially as someone who enjoys making a variety of content.

It's very easy to understand why Sony plays the part of modern Canon and gate-keeps features: they have product lines to protect and people are willing to buy both. They 100% have consumer data that proves this or they wouldn't do it.
If you have a problem with that, consider not supporting Sony at all. It's really easy not to these days!

I'm happy shooting with both Sony and Canon systems. Just ecstatic about the performance of A7V---it really punches above its weight class. Super impressed when I shot tennis the other day using ES and even at the fastest shutter speed 1/16000 sec.----no oblong balls no elongated racquets!! So maybe it's really a poor man's A1! Also I recently got the Viltrox 35/1.2 LAB N---heck I am a huge sucker for AF f/1.2 lenses. That's why I am still keeping my Canon system because of the 50 and 85Ls. Another advantage is the Sigma 28-105/2.8 lens. Canon has the 24-105/2.8 but more than double the price I paid for Sigma. So when I consider the third party options for Sony overall I'm getting good value.
